Healing, Home Life, and a Secret Project: Catching Up!
Hello, my little poppy crew!
I’ve been away for a few months—if you haven’t noticed! After moving into our home, we did just a little bit of updating in November (okay, maybe a lot), and I ended up injuring my right arm and shoulder. Turns out painting an entire room isn’t the best idea when you’ve got an old rotator cuff injury. Who knew?
The worst part? I’m right-handed. So, while I’ve still been creating almost every day, I haven’t been able to work on big, detailed pieces for months. The pain, numbness, tingling, and cramping in my arm make it tough to paint for more than an hour or two at a time. But don’t worry—I will keep creating, no matter what! I’m in physical therapy, getting treatment, and hopefully, with time, my arm will be back to full strength.
In the meantime, my husband and I are finally settling into our new home, and drumroll—we have a couch! We went a few months without one, and let me tell you, a couch really makes a house feel like home. It’s our landing spot at the end of the day, our cozy movie-watching zone, and our quiet time corner. Honestly, I never realized how much I’d appreciate it, but it’s become a little hub of happiness in our home.
Also, during my time away, I’ve been working on a big project—one that’s completely separate from my blog and artwork. It’s still in the early stages, so I can’t share too much yet, but it’s something I’ve felt called to create. It’s nerve-wracking because I don’t know how it will be received or if it will be as helpful as I want it to be. But my gut tells me to go for it, so I’m leaning into that. More on that soon!
I’m also thinking about making a YouTube video showcasing the artwork I have been able to create these past few months. It’s been a lot of quicker pieces since I can’t spend five or six hours on a single illustration like I used to, but I’d love to share it with you all—just to show that I am still creating, even if things look a little different right now.
So that’s where I’m at: healing, creating in smaller bursts, settling into our home, and diving into a new venture. Thanks for sticking around—I’ve missed you!
What’s new with you? Let’s catch up in the comments!
